Gangtok is a base for adventure enthusiasts comprising of trekkers and campers to the Himalayan mountain ranges. During the months of March to Mid-May, blooming of wild Rhododendrons transform the surrounding regions in vast fields of colourful carpets. With everything in just the right amount from a blend of cultural identities to urbanisation, Gangtok is a breathing and dynamic bit of paradise of the northeast.

Best Time to Visit Gangtok

Gangtok draws in tourists in its lush bounds throughout the year. The best time to visit Sikkim is either in between March and May or between October and mid-December. If you want to witness the blooming natural beauty in Gangtok the best season to visit would be in spring, from March to May. However, the autumn season (October to November) is also believed to be a good time to visit Gangtok by most tourists. Soon after the rainfalls recede, clear skies greet tourists, offering them breathtaking views of mighty Himalayan peaks which normally stay hidden during the monsoon season. Moreover, the climate during the months of mid-September to mid-November is usually pleasant, which gives visitors a comfortable atmosphere for exploration.

Places covered – Darjeeling, Pelling, Gangtok

Day 1: Arrival in Darjeeling

Dinner

Arrival at at Bagdogra Airport /NJP railway station, and then transfer to Darjeeling , at an height of 2123 meters / 70001 feet lies the Queen of the hills , It is also famous for World Heritage train (UNESCO) – The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR). On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Evening is at leisure. Dinner and night stay in Darjeeling

Day 2: Darjeeling sightseeing

-Breakfast, Dinner

Early morning visit Tiger Hill (subject to availability of Coupon / Permission) to see a beautiful sunrise and the Himalayan Ranges like Kanchandzonga, Mount Everest etc. One can see the horizon changing colours just before sunrise and then the entire Himalayan range turning golden.

Return to hotel for breakfast. Later proceed for city tour visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute(closed on Thursday) which was started by Tenzing Norgay after he climbed Mt. Everest, Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tenzing Rock, Gombu Rock, Tea Estate(from outside). Dinner and night stay in Darjeeling.

Day 3: Darjeeling to Pelling

-Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast transfer to Pelling; situated at an altitude of 2072 mtrs / 6800 ft. On a clear day guest can get a clear view of Himalayan range with snow capped mount Pandim, Kumbhakarna, Rathong, Kanchendzonga etc. It is one of the exotic settlement with varieties of Rhododendron, Orchids, historical sites, short trek routes and wildlife. Upon arrival in Pelling check-in at hotel. Evening is at leisure. Dinner and night stay in Pelling.

Day 4: Pelling sightseeing

-Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast start for Pelling sightseeing which will cover places like – Rimbi water falls,  Kanchenjunga  water  Falls, Kechopalri  Lake – it is one of the holy Buddhist lake and it is believed that any wish in front of the lake comes true – Myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird and thus the water surface is always free of leaves,  Pemayangtse  Monastery, Rabdantse ruins, the scenic view from the top of the ruin to the mystic heights of Kanchendzonga ranges is something to be cherished. After the day sightseeing return to hotel. The evening is at leisure. Dinner and night stay in Pelling.

Day 5: Pelling to Gangtok via Chardham visit (Namchi)

-Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast drive to Gangtok via Chardham visit which is located at Namchi, South Sikkim. After visit transfer to Gangtok (5500ft), the capital city of Sikkim. Sikkim is one the most beautiful state in India located in Eastern Himalaya and surrounded by high mountain and deep valleys along Tibet in the north, Royal Bhutan in the East and Nepal in West. On arrival check-in at hotel. Evening is at leisure for you. Dinner and night stay in Gangtok.

Day 6: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

-Breakfast, Dinner

After breakfast we will take you for a day excursion to Tsomgo Lake and  Baba Mandir approx. 40 kms. Tsomgo Lake is an oval shaped lake  nearly 50 feet deep – generally covered in snow for most of the year . This lake is home to the Brahmini ducks and many migratory birds, nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir known to be a very holy site for all. After visit drive back to Gangtok. Eveving is at leisure. Dinner and night stay in Gangtok.

Day 7: Gangtok to Bagdogra -Departure

-Breakfast

After breakfast you will check-out from hotel and transfer to Bagdogra airport for your return journey to home with sweet memories of your holidaying in The North East to cherish lifelong.
